About Us

Fun Kost: we’re not trying to be fine, we are trying to be fun.

Tiny place, big taste. At Fun Kost, we serve bold, vibrant food inspired by the American Southwest - especially the chile-powered cuisine of New Mexico. We're not your average Imbiss. We’re a neighborhood spot for sharing flavors, stories, and spontaneous good vibes.

When I say we, I mean me

Who

I, Nola, came to Leipzig to make a shift in careers from aircraft mechanic to kitchen witch. I wanted to get in touch with more feminine ways of being creative and connecting with my culture, while curing my own home-sickness and sharing all the lovely things with my new home, friends and neighbors.

Where

I always wanted to show up for this neighboorhood and this city in a big way, and now I realize the best way I can do that is with food. I love the Leipzig way of circling anywhere and sitting on the ground to enjoy food with and beer or a limo. Fun Kost is in east Leipzig with wild west energy to help you on your picnic quest.

When it's giving pop-art

Why

The shop feels like a never ending sculpture. The color, the decor, the found object art, the upcycling, the breathing new life into junk. It's all influenced by US Route 66 roadside junkyard and diners and old DDR industrial style. The aesthetics actually blend quite nicely. I wanted to make everything in a real, down- to-earth eco manner that honors old treasures. Let the pop art of it all transport you into another realm for a bit.
